What I Can Do For You
Have you reached a Brick wall in your family tree? Let me see what I can find! Through transcribing original church records, searching probate records for births, deaths, and land ownership in archives and courthouses, locating military records, and searching cemetery sites I can help you find the missing link and help to connect you to your past.
QUALIFICATIONS:
I have over 30 years of experience in researching family history for myself and others. The past 7 years I have been a volunteer as well as a part-time paid researcher for the Alabama Department of Archives and History completing over 500 hours of quests for information from local and out-of-state requests. I have also done research in local libraries in Alabama such as Birmingham Public Library, Wallace State Community College, and Samford University Library. Traveling extensively, I have researched in Archives, libraries, and courthouses in Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia, West Virginia, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Mississippi. Along with this, I have helped document multiple requests for joining lineage societies. I am a member of Alabama Genealogical Society, and the Montgomery Genealogical Society. I have completed genealogical coursework in college classes.
What I Charge
For routine research, I charge $22 an hour with a set minimum depending on the problem. I will give you an estimate and if I find I need to go over, I will notify you in advance. If travel is deemed necessary, it will be quoted on an individual basis. Actual charges for postage, copies, and other misc. expenses will be added to the total as necessary.
